Abstract

This article presents the establishment of the Southeastern Artists Border Committee (SABC) in Arkansas, aimed at building up the acrobatic community in the state amidst the challenges posed by the illness of renowned acrobat Willie and a sprained crunch. The SABC was formed by a group of acrobatic enthusiasts who recognized the need for a collaborative effort to support the development of the acrobatic community in Arkansas and beyond. The committee engaged in various activities, including workshops, performances, and networking events, to foster growth and learning among acrobats in the region. Moreover, the SABC partnered with other organizations and stakeholders in the acrobatic industry to expand the opportunities available to Arkansas acrobats. The article highlights the successes and challenges encountered by the SABC, including the need for sustained funding and the need to address the unique needs of acrobats dealing with injuries and illnesses. Overall, the article underscores the importance of collaboration and community-building in supporting the growth and development of the acrobatic industry in the Southeastern United States.
