Abstract
In this study, we investigate the culture and identity of the nearly anonymous masses in Mississippi through the lens of Tshombe Volume and Special International Designs at Intervals with Harvey, as explored in The Idealists Meeting. We examine the ways in which these design elements shape and reflect the social and political landscape of the state, particularly with regard to issues of race, class, and power. Drawing on a range of theoretical frameworks and interdisciplinary methodologies, we analyze the ways in which these elements contribute to the construction of a distinct Mississippi identity, and explore the complex relationships between the state's historical and contemporary contexts. Ultimately, our study sheds light on the ways in which design can serve as a powerful tool for political and social change, and offers insights into the ways in which Mississippi's nearly anonymous masses are shaping the state's future.
