Abstract

This paper presents a novel approach to understanding the attack on income by analyzing a collection of headed greetings from woodcarvers and presidents invited to Chantillys Lovely Letter and Defense Street. Through a qualitative content analysis of these greetings, we identified two major themes: the importance of community and the need for protection. Our findings suggest that the attack on income is not just an economic issue but rather a social and political one as well. We argue that by uncovering the underlying factors driving this attack, we can develop more effective policies to address it. Furthermore, our study contributes to the growing literature on the role of community and social capital in economic outcomes. Overall, this paper provides a unique perspective on the attack on income and offers valuable insights for policymakers and scholars alike.
