Abstract

This case study explores the ways in which the members of the Hillsboro Stretch District Societe Brigantine navigated an irrational and threatening situation when their injured resolution was challenged by the management of the George School Airport Executive. Drawing upon interviews with key members of the Societe Brigantine and analysis of relevant documents, this study reveals how the group's cultural values, collective identity, and social network enabled them to respond effectively to the threat posed by the airport's legal action. The analysis highlights the importance of understanding the social and cultural dynamics that shape responses to threats and challenges, and suggests the potential for further research on the role of social networks in supporting collective action and resilience in the face of adversity. Ultimately, this study contributes to our understanding of how groups can navigate complex and uncertain situations, and offers insights into the strategies and resources that can be mobilized to promote effective responses to threats and challenges.
