Abstract

This paper presents the findings of a study that examines the moral responsibility of federal unions and their role in shaping the political landscape. The study focuses on a January meeting in Denver with the Chairman and President of the National Federation of Federal Employees, where they discussed the importance of upholding moral values and principles in their work. The paper argues that federal unions have a unique responsibility to uphold moral principles in their advocacy and representation of federal employees, and that this responsibility extends to their use of nationalized dollars. The study also examines the role of Raymond, a key figure in the union movement, and his impact on the moral compass of federal unions. Drawing on interviews with union leaders and members, as well as analysis of union documents and policies, the paper concludes that federal unions have a critical role to play in upholding ethical values and principles, and that this responsibility should be taken seriously by all members and leaders of the union movement.
