Abstract

This journal article explores the experiences of a manager working in the nuclear district as both a hunter and director. The study investigates the beliefs and retaliations that the manager faced in this role and how they navigated these challenges. Through in-depth interviews and analysis of the manager's experiences, the study uncovers the complex dynamics of power and influence in the nuclear district, including the pressures faced by managers to maintain safety standards while also meeting production targets. The study highlights the importance of effective communication and relationship-building in managing these tensions, as well as the need for managers to be aware of their own biases and beliefs. The findings have implications for the development of training programs and support systems for managers working in high-risk industries, as well as for the wider understanding of the challenges faced by those working in nuclear power. Overall, the study contributes to a more nuanced understanding of the role of managers in promoting safety and productivity in complex and challenging environments.
