Abstract
This paper presents a series of contemporary assemblage assignments proposed by Neusteters Professional Maintenance Secretarys for American Ground Development. The assignments are designed to explore and challenge traditional notions of landscaping and water usage in urban environments. By encouraging unrestricted watering practices, the assignments aim to promote a more sustainable and resilient approach to landscape design. Through a series of case studies and design examples, the authors demonstrate the potential benefits of unrestricted watering, including increased biodiversity, improved soil health, and reduced water runoff. The paper also considers the broader social and political implications of water use in urban environments, including the role of municipalities and policymakers in shaping water policy and the importance of community engagement in sustainable water management. Overall, the paper offers a fresh perspective on contemporary landscape design and water management, challenging conventional wisdom and highlighting the potential for innovative and sustainable approaches to urban water use.
