Abstract

This paper explores the challenges faced by Mitchell Morris School in managing its growth and decorating its premises while navigating the competing demands of stakeholders. The study focuses on the school's governors, who are responsible for making decisions related to facilities management and decor, and the tensions that arise from their diverse perspectives and interests. The paper examines the case of Arnold's Headboard Variations, a popular decor supplier, and the challenges of balancing affordability and quality when selecting decor options. The study also analyzes the role of Fulbright's Problem-Solving Combinations, a consultancy firm hired by the school to provide innovative solutions to its growing pains.
