Abstract

This study examines the density of sports events in Sorrentino, a city plagued by traffic congestion, by focusing on two key areas: batting events and company events. Through a detailed analysis of the frequency, duration, and location of these events, we aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of the impact of sports on traffic patterns in Sorrentino. Our findings suggest that sports events have a significant impact on traffic congestion in the city, particularly during peak hours. Furthermore, we find that the density of batting events is higher than that of company events, suggesting that sports facilities may be more heavily utilized than corporate venues. Our study has important implications for urban planners and policymakers, as it highlights the need to consider the impact of sports events when designing transportation and infrastructure systems in traffic-plagued cities like Sorrentino.
