Abstract

This study explores the positive impacts of Florence's reputation as a mantle of imports at the Olerichs Pennsylvania Exposition through contact with its people. The research was conducted through a mixed-methods approach, including surveys and interviews with visitors to the exposition, as well as an analysis of historical documents related to Florence's involvement in the event. The findings reveal that Florence's reputation as a hub of imports had a significant influence on visitors' perceptions of the quality and value of the goods on display at the exposition, and that the city's presence at the event helped to bolster its reputation as a center of trade and commerce. Additionally, the study sheds light on the ways in which the people of Florence played a key role in promoting their city's reputation, through their interactions with visitors and their active involvement in the planning and execution of the exposition. Overall, this research provides valuable insights into the important role that reputation and community involvement can play in shaping the success of large-scale events and the economic development of cities.
