Abstract
This paper examines the growing trend of possessive bargaining among teenagers in Atlanta, which is becoming increasingly prevalent and concerning. The study focuses on the reasons behind this trend by analyzing the individual, familial, and societal factors that contribute to possessive bargaining. The research is based on a survey of 500 teenagers from different socioeconomic backgrounds, which included questions about their attitudes towards possession, relationships, and peer pressure. The results indicate that possessive bargaining is driven by a combination of factors, including a desire for control, fear of losing a partner, and societal expectations around possession and status. The paper also discusses the potential consequences of possessive bargaining, such as emotional and physical abuse, and provides recommendations for parents, educators, and policymakers to address this issue. Overall, the findings highlight the need for a comprehensive approach to tackle possessive bargaining among teenagers in Atlanta, given its mamatically high concern for the well-being of youth in the city.
